Italy
August 9, 2016A lot of people I kind of know are in Italy.
I see their pictures on social media!
I half-know them and they look like they’re having a great time. Some of them are with significant others that I don’t know. (I know them a little bit now, but only because I’ve seen their faces and I can associate them with the person they’re with.)
Some of the people I partially know through work or past work, some people I know from college, and one person is even from junior high school. Junior high? I used to know them better, but what kind of person are they now? I’m one awkward social media transaction away from finding out.
I know why some of the other people are there. They’re on vacation. I’m pretty sure they don’t live there. I don’t think an Italian person would post a picture of themselves standing in front of the Colosseum in Rome and geo-tag “Rome.”
I also kind of know someone who’s going to Italy soon. And then I know someone pretty well who’s going to Greece. That’s exciting.
Me? I want to go to Italy. I hope there’s a decent deal on overseas data for my phone. I want to post a lot of pictures in the moment so that people who partially know me will be able to see that I’m in Italy, having a great time.
